Masterclass: Cınematography wıth Meryem Yavuz @Silüet
The origin of the words that make up the concept of cinematography is Ancient Greek and this compound word means “writing with motion”. The film medium shares some similarities with contemporary art in terms of storytelling; but the main distinction is the instruments that are used. Camera is the most important distinctive instrument among these as the two-dimensional recorded image which is the reflection of reality needs a third dimension with the creative use of the recording device. This need is fulfilled through writing with motion by the directors of photography. We will have “Writing with Motion: Cinematography Workshop” with Meryem Yavuz who has fulfilled this need with her unique aesthetics many times in short and feature films.

Masterclass: Burak Aksak @Silüet
Television dramas are shaped through different trends within the limits of the television codes periodically. This circulation causes the works to become old in a few years. This aging occurs faster and tougher in the humour genre. Creating a good work is not enough to get rid of the impact of this aging. The work has to have a unique, specific form that can be maintained against all the present trends. Burak Aksak, who could manage this as a script writer with Leyla ile Mecnun, built up his own independent cinema as a director-script writer in a short time. We will have a master class with Burak Aksak where he will be talking about his adventure that started with his short film Ayrılık.   *His short film Ayrılık will be screened during the master class.

Pozitif Atölye Presents: Screen Actıng wıth Beyti Engin @Silüet
Starting with the first sentence of the script, the film is enlivened and shaped in the creators’ minds till the camera starts recording. The moment when the camera starts recording we are detached from the reality of our world and trapped in the reality of the film. It is the actors who convey the things in the minds of the creators to the audience by fleshing out this reality. In other words, the actors create living characters by blending the creativity behind the camera with their creative perspectives in the front of the camera. In this respect, we will have “Screen Acting Workshop” with Pozitif Atölye.

Case Study: Inflame wıth Ceylan Özgün Özçelik @Silüet
Making the first film is an exciting but a painful process for every director. The film that the director has kept playing in their mind has turned into a reflection of the reality falling on a stock or a sensor. This is an enormous happiness for the director; on the other hand, it is frightening as well. Besides the aesthetic aspect, production conditions also bring about different excitement and pain for the first film. We will talk about the adventure of a film from the process of script-writing to the distribution process with Ceylan Özgün, focusing particularly on her first feature film Inflame.
